Privacy notice

What we store

• Account: your email address, the time you signed up, the time you last signed in. We do not store passwords (we use one-time email links).
• Sessions: a server-side session row per browser you signed in from, with the user-agent string and IP at sign-in. Used to let you sign out of every device from your account page.
• Subscription: your current tier and status, plus the Stripe customer / subscription ids needed to process billing. Card data is held by Stripe; we never see it.
• Internal ledger: your current bonus/monthly balance and a row for every grant, debit, and refund (not your OpenAI bill) — recent lines on /account.
• Uploads: audio and video you upload for processing. Deleted from disk on a TTL by the job-cleanup sweep (default 48 hours).
• Operational logs: brief records of API calls (e.g. ledger movements, provider spend metadata) for reconciliation. Retained no longer than needed.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't share it with third parties beyond what's needed to deliver the service (Stripe for billing, OpenAI for AI features, your chosen email provider for sign-in links).
• We don't read your uploaded audio or video other than to process the job you asked us to run.

Third-party processors

• Stripe — payment processing, subscription management, customer portal.
• OpenAI — Whisper (transcription), GPT (text generation), DALL·E (image generation), only on the requests you initiate.
• Email provider — the configured sign-in email service (SMTP, Resend, Mailgun, or Postmark).
• Hosting — the cloud provider that runs this service.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA spirit)

• Delete:the “Delete account” button on /account erases your account, cancels your subscription, and deletes the Stripe customer record.
• Access / export: email privacy@berta.one and we'll send a dump of what's stored against your account within 30 days.
• Correct: change your email at any time via the security panel on /account.
